When life gives you lemons... make lemon cake
With warm wishes, I think this is a perfect day for some introductions! I’m Niroshni and I live in the sunny city of Perth, Australia. It is famously the most isolated capital city in the world – it should be famous for having the friendliest people and best beaches!
Today is my 48th turn around the sun and I want to send rays of warmth and love. Over the years, I have had my share of lemons. Being a sliver-lining type of person, I thankfully always found a way to bounce back and make sweet lemonade.
A few years ago, I finally took my lemons and decided to make lemon cake instead…life has been absolutely delicious since!
Hanging onto my autonomy, integrity and values – I walked away from my 20 year long corporate career. It took an enormous amount of courage and faith! And of course I also felt lost, worried, sad, hopeful and so many other emotions. For better insight, I’d like to share a poem that I wrote in my journal at that time..
Sailing Away
Deep in the ocean
No land in sight
Carried by the waves
From old self and life
Haunted is my heart
For those left behind
The ghost of old self
And that old way of life
Alone on this vessel
Steered by faith and trust
Sailing to true north
Onwards I’ve set course
Aurora lights the horizon
The future sparkling bright
Confession – its still scary
The sharks may yet bite!
And on this birthday, I feel it safe to say that my journey into the unknown is a success. Of course, its not perfect – but in this now moment, its my best time yet!
I now devote my time to my beautiful family, maintaining a loving, safe and peaceful home sanctuary. I feel extremely privileged and blessed to homeschool my darling son. And I am honoured to create Anahata Friends from my atelier at home – offering heirloom dolls, infused with the healing power of its crystal hearts, bringing goodness and joy into the world!
I hope that you will stay around to see more of these timeless beauties, created with the highest intentions of harmony with nature and with so much of love! I am so happy that the dolls have brought us together. May this year bring you peace and many blessings.
